"Fantatic Hotel. Great location"
I have just returned from a "shopping weekend" in Dublin. My 6 friends and I had all read the reviews on this hotel and we must admit we were a little apprehensive. However we knew it was listed in "The leading hotels of the world" brochure and decided to follow our instinct.
What a good decision it turned out to be. The hotel is fantastic, the staff were outstanding! Two people especially made our stay memorable, firstly Aine who is the Front Office Manager, was lovely. She is certainly a wonderful "find" for this hotel. Secondly I would like to mention Paul the porter, he is a treasure, a lovely guy who obviously enjoys his job!. A real gem.!
Yes, it could be slightly noisy at night with the police sirens outside, but it is a city centre hotel and the noise is beyond their control. However, the rooms are beautifully appointed and immaculate and the service was first class!.
We ate in the hotel restaurant on our second night, the food was exquisite, apparently the hotel has a "new" chef, who is outstanding! the service was second to none and the entire ambience of the restaurant is perfect for a 5 star hotel.
All in all, we were 7 ladies on a "shopping mission" who were totally taken with this central oasis and look forward to going back next year.

"The Clarence was great!"
Our recent stay at the Clarence was exceptional. The staff could not be more accomodating. I also want to acknowledge 'Aine Martin the Front Office Manager who was outstanding. When we checked in there was an error with our room. They thought our child was an infant and when they realized she was an adult they quickly accomodated us with a suite, since we booked through the American Express Platinum Service. The Staff was helpful in many other ways as well. We had dinner in the Tea Room and we though it was excellent. The boutique style hotel was a nice change from the other places we stayed. It was also fun being in the Temple Bar area. The association with some of U2's members may have initially attracted me to the hotel but it is the staff and the hotel itself that will bring me back.

"Style and comfort"
I stay at the Clarence every time I happen to be in Dublin. The rooms are small but stylish and perfectly formed. The location is great, right in the middle of everything. The guest bar is a very nice to relax by the fire away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is open all night long. Be sure to get breakfast included in your rate as its a gourmet treat of traditional Irish breakfast. This hotel is expensive but has great character and atmosphere and has a wonderful restaurant (though the seats are a little close together). And you do sometimes get to bump into one of the famous owners or their band mates.
